Fall 2010 Skate-a-Thon

Dear SYHA Families,
Exciting News!!!  We have been working diligently on getting a multi-purpose facility including a 2nd sheet of ice of Shakopee.  We are getting close.  In fact, we hope that it will make the referendum vote this November!  With that said, we need to do some serious fundraising.  Our goal as a community is to raise 1-2 million dollars.  A Skate-a-thon/Sport-a-thon is scheduled for Saturday, October 9th from 12pm-6pm.  Mark your calendars.  Lots of information will be coming in August.

Right now, I am looking for people interested in joining my planning committee.  Get an early start on your volunteer hours.  I am looking for interested people to meet on Sunday mornings, about 4-6 meetings from now until skate-a-thon in various areas to make this event a huge success.  If you are interested, please contact me at
kbernier@smgonline.us and let me know what area you are interested in.  Thanks in advance for your help.

Committee areas:
Registration/initial fundraising/player contacts
On-Ice Programming
Off-Ice Programming shinny tourney/street hockey tourney/kick ball/jumpers etc
Concessions
Silent Auction/Raffle
Prizes
Communication/Volunteers
